Joseph Evans Brown was an American actor and comedian, remembered for his amiable screen persona, comic timing, and enormous elastic-mouth smile. He was one of the most popular American comedians in the 1930s and 1940s, with films like A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Earthworm Tractors, and Alibi Ike. An ink-signed white card (3.5×4.5) with an ink-drawing of Joe E. Brown by one-time collector Billy Griffiths. He was a well-know collector in the 1930s/40s; he made drawings & caricatures of well-known stars, who he would ask to sign his picture. His typed address in Wimbledon, SW London, is typed to the verso. A unique piece!
